at the 2023 Rocky Mountain Rally in Invermere, BC.
Probably the roughest event in the Canadian Rally Championship. Our Corolla survived with only 1 flat tire and 1 bent wheel. This reliability, combined with (mostly) staying on the very dusty road at a good pace got us 1st in open 2 wheel drive - Western Canada
Racing the naturally-aspirated Kawasaki powered formula car at Gimli Motorsports Park in Manitoba. Saturday had great weather and I was able to break the long standing overall track record with a lap of 54:54
Two back to back 9 hour endurance races with team PBS in the wonderful M20 powered 1974 BMW '2002'.
Area 27 is a very challenging race track. With 55 cars on the grid it was a very busy race weekend, constantly weaving through traffic and doing our best to draft the cars with more horsepower.
This was the most enjoyable endurance race I have done so far
At the end of 2020 I had a pretty serious shop-related injury, leaving me one handed for 4-5 months. In January of 2021, with exposed pins holding my left hand back together, I made the decision to do a full ice racing season with 1 arm. I installed a forklift steering wheel spinner and wore a huge amount of padding on my left arm that could jam the steering wheel while is shifted gears (in theory).
It was a very competitive season with 34 cars overall, and towards the end I had various mechanical disasters. I finished 2nd in the championship that year.
Loading the trailer and having to fix the car fast in-between races was very difficult. A huge thank you to Chuck and Dave from Team PBS for helping with rushed repairs to get back on track
Racing in formula 1000 at Castrol Raceway in Nisku.
After trying to find every spot where I could push the limit, I walked away with a new overall track record in my custom-built formula car
